Epic Edition not sounding so Epic! The only great thing with Epic is the playable person for multiplayer and the statue. The rest is fucking trash, but wait I could use that to start a fire in my fire place!!!!!!  =)

Dear developers,

First of all, Thank you for making a great and original series. I loved the first two games, both single player and Horde (GoW2). I haven’t played much of the Versus in the first two games..

Having said that,

Please make the Sawed-Off a pick-up only weapon. For example on Trenches, it can be placed in the spawn on top of the canopy.

Please increase the damage of the Hammerburst, but limit the range.
Also increase the Cog pistol damage a tiny bit.
The Gnasher has a wicked close-range shot, almost as much as the Sawed-Off, maybe take the damage down just a tad bit.

As far as maps…
Old Town is an amazing map. No changes necessary!
Trenches – Maybe make the One Shot spawn less often.. Maybe put Hammer instead of Mortars more?
Checkout – amazing map, maybe reverse the Mulcher and Longshot spawns? Right now the Mulcher doesn’t do much.
Thrashball – Mulcher/mortars are kind of overpowered. Maybe add higher obstacles in the middle to prevent massive kills from the Mulcher.

Again, minor changes in an otherwise amazing beta! The detail and gameplay are amazing!

 Agreed in saying the Epic addition needs..well, more addition. The difference between the Limited Edition And the Epic is another $70 dollars plus tax, and basically what we get is a book, gun skin set, and statue extra. I think some more exclusive DLC is in order.. I’m thinking Epic should add either more gun skins or an extra character or map pack or something used in multiplayer. What’s the point of buying a $150.00 Game if you can’t show it off online? As of now, I am thinking I’ll demote my Pre-0rder from Epic to Limited..

As for the Flag, upon reading the description I will be honest, I was pretty excited to say the least. Scrolling down and seeing the picture, I’m a bit disappointed. It looks just great and is a good addition to exclusive extras – however the size is devastating. It is folded in order to give a sense of mystery to its size in actuality, but it still is easily noted at ‘just bigger than the case’. Maybe Epic can fix this and at least double the size so that it is decent..

The Infected Omen Weapon Pack sounds nice. Exclusive Gun skins are a great idea. However, with the $70.00 extra dollars on the line, shouldn’t we be able to see them?

 I’m not poor, but normally I wouldn’t even buy new games at $60.00 because I hate spending my hard earned money, and I’m sure the general public agrees that asking so high an amount should include some not necessarily ‘better’ content, just some more. Epic was used as the name to double as the company name as well as a description of the edition – that it’d be ‘epic. So far, it’s still very ‘limited’ if you catch my drift. 

Main Point: The Limited Edition is the best deal so far. Epic edition needs some revision if Epic wants more sales. Add more DLC for Multiplayer, ie. gun skins, maps, characters, or even uniforms (like the Cole Train) bit. Fans love DLC to show off. 

Good Ideas: I think that the Adam Fenix DLC is a great idea. I myself love showing off my stuff to other gamers through multiplayer. With that said, one could easily guess that I also am a fan of Exclusive Gun Skins. Good idea for exclusive gun skins (all though maybe those two should swap editions..) The Flag, Statue and Medal are good ideas, however I still fear the flag will be a small, poor quality snot rag in the end; the Statue more of a disabled action figure; and the Medal a new plastic ring for my sister. 

Final Thoughts: I know I’ve written an essay, but it was necessary. The Epic edition needs more DLC for Multiplayer. People buy the expensive editions for exclusive things they can flaunt to other gamers who weren’t initiative enough to take advantage – like the Gears of War 2 Gold-Plated Lancer/Hammerburst Deal. EPIC – PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS.

Sir, after just having said that you didn’t play versus much, you kind of in a sort disqualify your opinion to any changes in it. Not to be offensive, just matter-of-factually.

Just when you think you’ll look cool playing as Thrashball Cole with a Gold Retro Lancer, they dump Adam Fenix in your lap. Personally, the Omen skins aren’t cooler than the Flaming ones, and all the replica documents and fabrics are only worthy to those who are TRUE Gears of War geeks. Not that there’s anything wrong with those folks, I’m just not one of them. Good thing I’ve got ’til September to cough up the $80 plus tax

one comment more, another cool idea is to make official cog tags and locust tags with some sort of historic gears saying on it that would make everyone who wears it proud to be one of the people who went the extra mile to get it.

This is anything but epic. You made an original, great game; then as your last “hurah” you make something so unoriginal. We’ve already seen busts before, it doesn’t matter how detailed it is, it’s the same thing as Halo and Bioshock. DLC won’t cut it because that’s already been done, no sense beating a dead horse. I expected more from Epic but was severely let down. I’ll get the basic game but only because I’ve sunk $25 into the pre-order.

 Will the game still come in the regular casing though inside the Limited Edition box or will it have its own special case to go along with that whole “theme”? Personally, I like having games in the regular XBOX cases just ’cause I have an OCD about them lining up, but meh.

 I think its worth the 150 when you look at the  statue of Marcus and you compare it to the Halo Reachs noble team bust. Its much better. They did this high end quality work with one character then five mediocre ones for the same price. Its from Triforce.  The locus drone Marquette in the video is going for 650 on their website I’ll gladly pay for this.

I don’t know why people are complaining about the epic edition I think the price for it is fine look at halo reach legendary edition you really didn’t get much more and the statue isn’t as nice and you payed the same price, plus most busts you buy are $100+ you can get them cheaper but the quality isn’t as nice

 Hello again, everyone. I am diving back into the concern that the Epic Edition is lacking on Exclusive DLC to show off in Multiplayer. I just thought up a new idea for Exclusive DLC for the Epic Edition: How would everyone like it if Epic Edition also included a choice between uniforms? 

By this I mean, those who purchased the Epic Edition receive a unique download code that enables us to obtain the COG Winter Uniform. That way, upon multiplayer character select, Epic Edition Purchasers also have the option to use either the Summer Uniform (short-sleeve) or the Winter Uniform (long sleeve, used in Gears 1 and 2 alike). 

Two ways about doing this are: 

1. Adding an entire uniform select menu, like the primary weapon menu from Gears 2 ( hammerburst/lancer/ Gold-Plated hammerburst/lancer) That way with every character obtained in Gears 3, one can choose between the two uniforms (possibly 3 if it is decided to include the slightly-different from Gears 2, Gears 1 Uniform)

2. Simply creating a new character for each. This may be simpler however much less room efficient. In this option, there would be twice as many characters, however would be differentiated by name ie. Anya Stroud and Anya Stroud (Winter) or something along those lines.

That was just an idea I thought of with the help of a friend by the GamerTag Sing A Ma Jig, and I thought it a great one at that, and decided to post it for people inside of Epic as well as fellow GearHeads to read and comment on.

I myself among many I’ve talked to, agree that the Winter Uniform looks many times better than the Summer. I understand the Summer Uniform is to represent how hot it has become and how scarce resources are in the 3rd Gears, however if implemented to Online Multiplayer only, this should have no conflict with the campaign story whatsoever.

What a sin! A book and a statue is heaps! You’re talking about the culmination of the work that Epic poured their heart’s and souls’ into as if it were junk! Have you seen the detail of the statue? Mark my words, you’ll pay triple that if it were even possible to buy it outside the collection. I’d be more offended if it were just a bunch of in-game skins; you can’t put skins on a mantle. I would have LOVED a replica retro-lancer… that would have been amazing. I mean 4 pounds worth of a marcus statue is nice (especially when its made by triforce and designed by “the man himself”) but that would have been much cooler if it was 4 pounds of a gun made by triforce ect…

the detail is amazing, no doubt. however, I was stressing that my fears that it will be of poor quality plastic, that it’s weight will be that of a plastic cup. As for the flag, I stand by my beliefs that it should be bigger. And if people will pay triple, good then, because I am selling those things immediately. You may value some toys above DLC because you are into the story and plot overall. I am more into the Multiplayer. Of course, I am also a fan of the campaign but I have put at least 720 hours into the Gears 2 multiplayer alone, and as for campaign for the trilogy, maybe 20, even though i’ve beaten both campaigns at least 3 times. 

So don’t think I’m trying to disrespect Epic’s inclusion of IRL collectibles, I think they are neat. I just am saying I fear they won’t live up to the hype. As for DLC, you know what to expect, and as a multiplayer fanatic, showing off exclusivity is a major for me. I’m sure you understand my position better now. I am grateful sir, just think we deserve a bit more DLC. 

(ps. I don’t think they did do as you claim, for if Epic had poured their ‘heart’s and souls” into their work, they technically wouldn’t be alive now, would they? )

Rank can be glitched, besides that shows skill, not exclusivity (which is what i want) as far as talking the talk, I can say i had a steady 2.7 k/d ratio in the beta for TDM and a rising 2.3 k/d ratio from warzone in Gears 2. As for walking the walk, I think my gamertag is pretty sick. ( your metaphor was backwards, no offense – GT’s talk talk Stats walk walk ) 

and Yes, i agree with you the Adam Fenix is a good DLC for pre-orders, however he is ALSO available in the Limited Edition. If they are going to add something like that in the Limited, they should add something even better DLC in the Epic.

Epic ed is just limited with a book and statue thrown in, as far as I’m concerned Limited is the real special ed where Epic is a mere extension. Besides I would rather the Lancer than a statue so going with Limited + gold retro perfect combo for what I look for in Limited edition games

Just pre ordered the epic edition on Amazon and they say the shipping weight is around 9 pounds. Keep in mind you get everything in the limited edition so that’s all probably around 4 pounds. So that leaves the statue being around 4.5 to 5 pounds (so its probably no paperweight) and its about damn time a company has finally invested time, effort and money into a statue. Cause the Duke Nukem statue was beyond pitiful. Only best statue that has come before was I believe Halo 3 (could be wrong) that came with a master chief helmet. Can’t wait for this, definetly an early christmas present for myself.
