On another note: Woohoo, another gears weekend.

Being busy with GoW is tha shit! Played last XP also!

After my wife got the TU 6 glitch again…for the third time…i reset my stats along with her. *sign of true love* and we’re gonna grind on this XP event to get back up. We don’t expected to get our wings or even close, but it’s that furious and fun play that keeps going back to Gears 2…even with all the irritation. #supportthegears

Currently a 68 right. I am going to PLAY MY ASS OFF THIS WEEKEND! I even reschedualed my party this weekend because I’m not letting anything stop me sweeping in this XP bonus!

It was really hard going back into Gears 2 from the beta. I think that’s a testament to how good Gears 3 will be. I got back into the Gears 2 rhythm and now I’m almost as good as I used to be.

I still need both Seriously and Seriously 2.0 and I cannot wait for gears 3!

Hopefully I can reach at least Level 60-65 since I’m already level 51, and plus the “explosive Horde” event they had for the 4th of July was awesome. Can’t for for this XP weekend. =D

I’ve had my wings for a while now, but it’s too get my last achievement which requires the 100,000 kills, so I’ll most likely be in Horde later on.

I like the 20x exp. It makes for a great multiplier while not making it too easy to level up. I’ve had my wings for a while now, but that doesnt mean I wont be playing this #GearsWeekend!!

I’m going to play the hell out of gearsweekend. The only thing that makes no sense is that its only 20xp. You say its for Gears 3 being released September 20th. So shouldn’t all weekends then have a 20x multiplier from now on? The XP event is because of Comic Con though so the XP multiplier should have been related to Comic Con. 41x would have been much more relevant to the occasion. Anyways, thank you for the still fantastic weekend.

I’m at level 43 after resetting my profile from the stupid glitch that froze my profile.  The Wings achievement is one of the 6 achievements that I don’t have, so hopefully this will get me closer to the goal!!!   #GearsWeekend

Gears 2 is just about the only thing I play. I’ve been playing since one came out in 06, and I LOVE IT. But I hate when the lag is just so damn bad u skip across the map. But anyways what would I give to be at comic con. To those who give stuff away, y’all need to start sending out special offers that we people over on the east coast (Kentucky) like a plane ticket and all expense paid trip for 2 for 3 days..lol. I do not know about any of you, but I have been grinding gears of war 1 and 2 to get every thing done and unlocked so I am 100% ready for gears 3, whether its achievements or multiplayer status. Also I decided to go all out for gears 3 and spend about 400 dollars to get the epic edition, retro lancer and different copies to get the character skins. it may sound crazy, but gears is the only game I can get into any more Also, i got my epic edition of gears of war 2 at GameStop and went to the midnight release and never received my golden camos for Gears of war 2. Did this happen to any one else?

gears of war is the first game i ever owned for xbox 360 loved it so got gears of war 2 couldnt stop playing it downloaded it to my hard drive and own 3 other copies i lend out to friends and got them addicted to gears cant wait for gears of war 3

I don’t know if my best addition so far is the sires with chainsaws with no animation (so you literally just fall to pieces immediately), or the fact that Therons now say BOOM before firing. I laughed my ass of at both.

This weekend, i’m goin to be playing online: King of the Hill ready for the release of Gears 3 and surviving through the waves of horde: on insane difficulty. I’m already at level 100 but im still playing cause its an amazin game. Let the games begin

Yea mine reset after that update as well 2 weeks ago… i’m so upset. Right before my wife and I completed the waves 1-50 horde for snowblind maps. :-/ There goes me getting any of the last achievements now… no offense but this is something that should have been fixed a LONG time ago. If this issue is in GoW3, as much as I love these games, I dont think I can support it if it happens again in that one.

Siked for Gears of War 3. I’m going on a curveball here Epic but I was wanting see if you guys would look into making a PreQuel to Gears of War. In Gears 1 and 2 the story sometimes refers back to The Pendulum Wars, Asphio Fields and The Winter of sorrow. Maybe you guys could explain more of what marus did that made him look like a traitor and how the locust started to rise up and maybe show E-Day. As far as I can tell Marcus, Adam Fenix, Dom and Hoffman were in the pendulum wars. Is Epic going to look into making a prequel after Gears 3?

Just killed a Drone with a Snub by wielding my Boltok pistol like John Marston from Red Dead ha-ha and this new Horde mode is so much fun, I just wish they made more tickers so I can get my Seriously 2.0 faster!

I’m working towards my wings, I’ve only got 9 levels to go  so I’m going to crank out an all nighter and get them!  Gears 2 is the only thing keeping me content till September.  Honestly it’s constantly on my mind, it’s one of the main things my friends, my work buddies and I talk about on a regular basis…can’t….wait..

there’s a couple books that do a good job explaining some of the back story (Aspho Fields is explained in a book called…Aspho fields. They’re good reads and a must for any gears fan. Some of teh more recent comic books also give more info about teh pendulum wars

Back in your hole botched lol

Am I one of the few that is hating Horde so far in this event? I am a level 77 gear at this moment, and even with 5000XP a level in Horde on Insane, I am still needing over 800 rounds to even get close this weekend for my wings! For starters, the AI seems to be set on “coffee break” and never moves – so my average clear times for horde right now is between 8-12 mintues a wave! Once you get down to 2-3 enemies (which you can do in about 3-4 minutes), this gets really bad. Also, because they do not move, you have to move from cover; and the nanosecond you do, they then will suddenly move like they always knew where you are and gun you down almost instantly. Normally I do not think it is so bad, because I have grinded other events to get to level 77, but this is not fun AT ALL. I have played about 18 rounds of horde so far today (work you know…) and this is just mind numbingly dull and boring. Any chance for some tweaking over the weekend? In horde, YOU are the hunted, but the AI is acting like THEY are the ones outnumbered. Thanks for your time, and here is hoping this gets better.

taking a break from gears for a while,been playing for like five hours strait. But stating again tomorrow. 

If you think thats tiring try getting 1,000 kills in one day only by playing the last campaign mission. Reason I say this because I did it and I’m on my way to Seriously 2.0 yay! I need about 20k kills more.

I know right now you can kill Flame Boomers that have snipers haha and the running animation from the Bolters holding the Torque Bow is hillarious

The Sires are scary when they try chainsawing you I got attacked by atleast a dozen of them today

So… I’m missing #SDCC just to get sawed by a sire!!

Yeah I recommend to try Horde Mode its very fun now specially the enemies carrying new weapons that they normally don’t have. The best part is the 20XP you get experience points like bread and butter

Seriously on Gears 1 was tricky because I checked my leaderboard stats and I already over 10,000 kills but no achievement yet I think if I can remeber I got it at 14,000+ kills yeah I know but its a good feeling after you get it

Yeah dude did you know that Horde Mode also has there own event as well the enemies have different weapons like the Boomers have Snipers which is weird

I got 9k kills in 2.5 hours last night.  You’re doing it wrong.  Just restart act 5 chapter 5 over & over.  There are two big piles of grubs right when you start, fire off some missiles with X and you get about 75 kills in 20 seconds or so.
Reload from checkpoint and repeat.

i have helped a good Xbox friend get all the dog tags in gear of war now halfway through the campaign on insane for the first i already got it but she asked me to help her get the achievement for beating it. also helping her get her wings for gears 2 she is so close almost level 90. i believe she is doing great, horde has gotten a lot harder on insane how each enemy use the different weapons, the sire caught my attention when it got close and my character just fell to pieces thought it was weird but kinda cool

Yeah many people wish they were veterans but remember to keep playing and most importantly have fun 

Dude the reason Epic does these events is because alot of people want to be high levels lol and this is such a great way to level up and seize this opportunity 

You know what that would be very cool after gears 3 but as now lets focus on the present and what we already know you know Gears 3 will three times more bad ass then the rest of the other gears games Beast Mode, New horde mode, bigger campaign, playable brumaks, new characters/custom weapons, silverbacks, butchers, females they are playable! and many many more

My friend and are playing #gearsweekend today. There are no connection problems whatsoever!!! There’s no BS at all in this game and it is legitimitely fun and exciting. It was totally not a waste of monies and time and I do not regret buying it. At all. Marvel vs Capcom 3 comes nowhere near the level of fun this thrilling epic provides. The storyline and dialogue is truly incredible and is something the likes of Steven King couldn’t concieve. Just amazing. Best damn game ever.

P.S. This game is good. So good that my friend just quit to the dashboard in the middle of a match.

My gears weekend has be amazing – at the start of the weekend i was 86, now I’m 97, 86 – 97 in 2 days hoping to get the last 3 levels before weekend is over.

Nothing even compares to how epic the Gears franchise is and how much awesomeness the multiplayer has. Really enjoying the #gearsweekend so far, even though I’ve still not got round to trying out the changes made to Horde yet. Too busy curb stomping people in Execution!

Cleared wave 50 again this weekend. First time my son has completed it. He died on wave 50 and left the room for a min. He wasn’t even there to see the achievement pop. Still a great time.

Been on Horde and King of the Hill recently despite having all the achievements and getting to Level 100. Can’t wait for beast mode and Horde 2.0 in september. Planning on getting the Limited Edition Gears console along with the limited edition of Gears 3. Looking forward to September

just pre-ordered the last copy of Epic Edition at my local GameStop wheew, what a relieve knowing that I will definitely be going to the midnight launch for exclusives Now time to enjoy my #GearsWeekend by joining some Social Warzone matches.  

I love the series, the new horde mode, beast mode, campaign, online, and most importantly I love cosmetic weapons!

Finally got my Wings hours away from the end of this event!  The timestamps read from 4/17/09 when I got my rookie gear achievement to 7/24/11 when I finally got my veteran gear.  Thanks for letting me get my Wings guys!

Thanks for the fantastic #gearsweekend Epic! Horde mode was very entertaining with the weapon switches and the xp multiplier was a huge help for those in need of wings. Congratulations for the solid appearance at comic-con, I heard you guys did a great job and the horde 2.0 booths were great. Also congrats to all the gamers that got their wings this weekend and hopefully there will be more opportunities for those that didn’t quite make it:)

Those crazy Sires in horde this #GearsWeekend chop me up every 5 rounds in horde! It’s hard to keep up when they run at full speed! Btw the XP is doing great I’m now 62 from 48!

I unlocked my Seriously 2.0 achievement during this #GearsWeekend helped a friend become a Veteran combated a few pesky Sires with Chainsaws attached to their weapons, and most importantly had fun. Thanks Epic Games and everyother member who contributed to this event.

I had a great #GearsWeekend, I started even before the event started with a Campign run through, then played multiplyer and Horde (most horde) for the whole weekend. I ended up with 14 levels and alot of fun. Thanks and look forward to the next event
