Gears Weekend: Recap July 22, 2011

Yet another Gears Weekend has passed us by with lots of wings earned, XP gained and prizes won. Comic-Con 2011 Panel: Microsoft: Gears of WarThis weekend also marked the release of the video, “Making Gears 3: Crescendo” at Comic Con.

The video debuted to a standing room only crowd during the “Comic-Con 2011 Panel: Microsoft: Gears of War 3“.

Yet another video: “Gears of War 3 OG Slick Involvement Video” also debuted over the weekend. In this video, OG Slick talks about his involvement in Gears of War 3, from t-shirt production to in-game propaganda and posters.

Gears of War 3 Trike by Paul Jr DesignAlso announced was the Gears of War 3 trike on July 21, 2011 at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego. A 2nd bike was built and will be given away in a Best Buy Sweepstakes as well as a trip to New York City for the Gears of War 3 Launch event.

The wheels include the Gears of War cog skull symbol and the paint resembles armor used in the game. Episodes air on American Chopper September 19th and 26th

As if that weren’t enough, we were treated to extra XP and The craziest version of Horde ever.

        I didn’t hear anything about him be playable in 4 player co-op either. Maybe he dies early in the campaign?

      You can get the golden weapons without having them in gears of war 2 because that would be unfair if you couldn’t.

       I want to get my wings but i sold my xbox for the gears one! Hopefully you dont get anything too special or else they need to make more events for gears 2  so i can get 100 when gears 3 comes out!

      Those lancer-carrying sires were surprisingly difficult. Got chainsawed a couple times.

      I really thing EPIC games should keep the XPx 20 going everyday until the release date for GEARS OF WAR 3. This way everyone will have a greater chance to get to RANT 100 and get thier wings.
