Infinity Blade: Awakening

Infinity Blade: Awakening, the new iBook by #1 New York Times selling author Brandon Sanderson

Infinity Blade Siris KnightTrained from birth in swordplay and combat, a young knight named Siris has journeyed to the Dark Citadel with a single purpose: fight through the army of Titans to face the tyrannical God King in one-on-one combat. This was his father’s sacred mission, and his father’s before him, going back countless generations in an effort to free their people from enslavement.

But when Siris somehow succeeds where all those from his bloodline previously have failed, he finds himself cast into a much larger world, filled with warriors and thieves, ancient feuds and shifting alliances, Deathless immortals and would-be kings. His quest for freedom will take him on an epic journey in search of the mythical figure known as the Worker of Secrets – the one being in the world who can unravel the secrets of the Infinity Blade.

Based on the bestselling video game from ChAIR Entertainment and Epic Games, this all-new adventure from acclaimed fantasy author Brandon Sanderson digs deeper into the fantastical world of Infinity Blade, a world of mystery and intrigue where magic and technology are indistinguishable, and even life and death are not what they seem.

The “Infinity Blade: Awakening” novella is available now for $2.99 via Apple iBookstore®, Amazon.com® Kindle, and Barnes & Noble NOOK. You can also download a free preview HERE.

So where does Awakening lie in the IF continuum? Does it bridge the gap between IF1 and IF2, or is it mainly a novelization of IF2?

  • Mitchell Fontenot

    @Sachin Doshie according to Sanderson’s website, it’s a bridge between IF1 and IF2.

  • Marvelousbunty

    will it work on IP4?

  • Christopher Brady

AWESOME!  A second weapon style (Dual Wielding.)  I hope that Sword and Shield comes back, as well as Two Handed Weapons join the mix.  THAT would be the PERFECT game for iPad to me.  But the fact that there’s two weapon style is just awesome as is!  Can’t wait to get this!

It could be a bridge between IB1 and IB2, but it could also happen anytime after defeating the God King in IB1. The reason is they STILL move to a new bloodline after defeating him,
implying he might not have died, only left. Also, that would explain why the God King gets stronger every time you fight him again.

  • HuskyPride

So the hero we controled is a half god(physically) half human(mentally) Deathless who wants to save the world from the hands of Sauron(God-King) lol
I want to see Isa again in the game or in the book.
TEL is such a loyalty servant.

I think they should make a real printed copy to digital is a fin and dandy but it would be nice to have it

  • Robert Dargis, Jr

So why is it not in the NOOK store when every press release on the internet says it should be?

I read the book in iBooks in about a week or less and enjoyed it thoroughly. I loved the game Infinity Blade and am definitely buying the sequel when it is released, but this book was so intriguing, deep and humorous that it far exceeded any other story I’ve read based on a video game or movie. This novel masterfully switches between drama, suspense, action and humor in a refreshingly bright story to bring the tale of the Infinity Blade to new life. Sequel please!!! :)

  • Daniel_hughes89

I am a first time buyer as well, thanks to the little button in the game and a great sample of the book. ;)

  • Rio haugauna

it will work on ipad 2 and on the iphone 4s because the ipad 2 and the iphone 4s run A-5 dual core chip. The game will work on the iphone 4 but the graphics won’t be as good as the ipad 2 or the 4s

  • Rio Haugauna

the game will work on the ip4 but the graphics won’t be as good as the ipad2 or the ip4s because the ip4 runs a A-4 processer while the ipad2 and the ip4s runs a A-5 dual core processer.

  • J_a_smith5

im also a first time buyer and thought the book was great. cant wait for the next game

  • J_a_smith5

it is a bridge between IB1 and IB2 thats why you should play IB1 then read the book then get IB2

  • Andre Hallberg

Amazing story and Game. I want more!!!

Thxn for giving us the joy!

  • Guest

I’m pretty sure that the book starts where infinity blade 2 starts but where the book stops the game keeps going

  • Turkeydipking

    Awesome book!
Interesting story…. Really makes me want to get IF2!
    Good job, sequel please? ;)

  • 1997skye

Oh. My. God. Read the book in a matter of hours. AMAZING. Love the game, and the storyline for both is taking some very intriguing turns. Ida is my HERO!

Oh, did I mention I happen to be fourteen? No? Well, there you have it.

  • 1997skye

Isa. Typing this on my phone. Fricking auto correct. :P

  • tell mei

    how many chapters are there

  • Tsumi88

Good read and now that I’m playing infinity blade 2 I see the tie ins. Heck the end of the book is…… You’ll see.

  • Asdfslkdf294

LOL Where did Sauron come from, he’s called Raidriar! :D

  • Buckmaster3376

Is it bad if I have beaten infinty blade 2 six times and read this book twice in the last 3 days?

  • Holding Cory

They should make like a three part film in 3D, be brilliant!=)

  • Xanj

just read the book wish the game was on something besides iphone though, i refuse to buy a apple product

  • Harra

I cant understand how Siris didn’t realize he was an inmortal. If you suppose in the first game you are controlling his son, did he got married? How did he trained himself with the sword since childhood if in Infinity Blade 2 he awakens in a strange place but grown up?!?! That doesn’t make any sense, how did he really believed he was his son????

  • http://twitter.com/gaiapunk Evan Schoepke

Loved the game and the book, please don’t make a film out of either.

  • Cristian1209

Played both games read this book and i tell you this now i can see bright things for this deathless franchise

  • gingervolcano

it ends shortly after IF1, and ends shortly after IF2 starts, so yes, it bridges the gap

  • Gingervolcano

it’s a confusing book. try to read it in depth, especially when he’s talking to TEL near the end

  • Samdrapp

I have to say, mr. Sanderson, this is by far the best adaption from a game I have yet read, and I hope that you can continue with epic games. I especially like the development of Siris as a thinking character, use of his lack of life experience and interaction with Isa. You have done a great job and I admire your work. I also l like the joke about two penis

  • Fallbackorchid

He was reborn as a child each time since his brain wasn’t developed he had no memory of his past life and he wakes up as an adult because Isa brought him to the rebirth not TEL who was given the orders from siris himself when he was a deathless to be reborn as an infant I can’t explain it all but it’s not that complicated sounds like you just skimmed through it

  • Shadster2009

    Great book

  • Dx

This leaves so much room for another book Isa plays an amazing role that isn’t shown in II

  • Chase1234

Ya and why would it be lord of the rings

  • Archer Th1nk3r

I’m 14 too, and I finished IB: Awakening in like 2 hours. Dude, I really want to read the Wheel of Time series! They sound really good. You should read the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. They are also published by TOR FANTASY. Amazing books. There’s a TV show based on the books, but the TV storyline doesn’t match the books’ awesomeness! Try them out. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU READ THIS SERIES! If you liked IB: Awakening with it having secrets being revealed and pretty much flawless plot, read the Sword of Truth series.

Anyway, I hope Brandon Sanderson will write a sequel to IB: Awakening!
