I can’t believe every new update i read on losers are commenting complaining about epic’s latest. like saying its bullshit the new maps aren’t playable online, then there was like 200 comments long argument about whether or not they were playable for matchmaking, online and only in beast and horde… also they stated it quite clearly, playable for everything but live, and they said live yet… now this one states that its being made online when the booster map pack comes out, but i bet people will still argue it later over this update =/

Talk about some BS: You pay for DLC to access content, then the first thing you see is that the three maps( honestly, this is the main content of the DLC) you just brought will be offered for everyone to enjoy online. This was supposed to be already include in the DLC, not offered to everyone. It’s not to sound selfish, but I HOPE this get cancelled/reduced to remove the maps of the DLC so its fair for everyone. Seriously, lots of ppl in my Friend list feel like me: we have been fools to buy a Season pass for stuff that we will get for free anyway. I can care less about weapon skins and chars. Horde upgrades aren’t worthing 10$. What fool idea came accross your mind Epic :/?

This game doesn’t need double exp.. and I hope it counts as an event towards the medals if anything else. I think the free dlc should just be the two maps that aren’t new. You did it in Gears of War one, so what makes this one any different.

TBF we should know what were buying into. HORDE COMMAND PACK. Its for Horde, not MP. So in a way, I’m fine with it. But I do think maybe it is a bit to soon to release the 3 maps for free. 

why did you make it easier in gow3 to rank up and its the last gears, i think when you release a few more maps have a add on that you can do a type of thing like cod that allows you to prestiege and make a achievement

I agree it feels like weve been handed a raw deal for our loyalty. I think they should give out the 2 new maps and only let the other 3 unlock if you have downloaded the DLC. I understand what you are doing, but its still a bit harsh degrades the horde command pack a lot and I get it is supposed to be just horde add ons and the new free pack is online VS only but still feels like were getting a rough deal. A horde map pack playlist would be very nice also, I have played a ton of Horde and I would love to just play on the new maps with out having to gamble on the chance of playing one of them over the old ones.

If you’re going to give out the maps for free, I want a refund on my season pass. I think it is bullshit to make 3 character skins, 2 weapon skins packs and some horde upgrades count towards the dlc season pass.  I mainly play versus, and you screwed us. Thanks a lot epic.  Doubt I’ll be buying any of your products again.

the season pass is for the first 4 MAJOR DLC’s …. this DOES NOT count the free one… u get horde command , raams shadow and wutever 2 other major dlcs they come out with ….,stop hating and get ur facts straight… epic is awsome and if all major dlc is 800 mp… then do the math 4 x 800 is 3200mp …. u payed 2400 for the season pass ur saving 800 mp 33% …..

Not wanting to be a pain in the @$$ but why are you putting the maps out when we had to pay for it in the season pass?! as others are saying I feel a bit cheated and after the technical difficulties today I think that people who didn’t buy the season pass should be getting the same as us? I probably sound like a jack @$$ right now to some people and I am grateful for the 2 other maps, but REALLY? giving people who didn’t pay the maps we did pay for is a bit unfair, that’s what I think at least, but I’m just expressing my opinion, still love gears and will always play it.

I’m pretty sure only the booster pack is free… not the maps from the dlc. So when they all go dedicated I’m pretty sure people will still have to buy the dlc maps. It’ll probably be like halo when you don’t have the maps. They just won’t pop up in matchmaking for you.

I can read perfectly well. And the way this is worded makes is sound as if season pass people are getting the short end of the stick.

give the dlc some time people, epic didnt want the dlc to just be multiplayer maps. so this first dlc is based on horde and there next is based on campaign, so judged on that there will probably be one based on beast mode and the other for the season pass will probably be just multiplayer stuff. so get over it and wait till that dlc comes out

what everyone not getting is the 5 maps will be free to the public yes on matchmaking not horde mode thats why the first DLC is called Horde Command pack to play these maps in horde with the upgrades and extra gamerscore with skins and new characters that only the people that paid for the dlc or season pass will have so let everyone get the maps to play online for free there just maps hell to make up for the fact that epic is doing this there giving the ones that paid 2 extra maps at no charge that they could have made you pay with this dlc but there not and there not counting this as extra for your season pass so why are you mad is it the fact you dont get to play matchmaking right now with the 3 maps you got today cause if so then you wouldnt of gotten the skins or characters you would have got maps yes 5 maps at not 800points it would have been 1200points and the ones that got the seaon pass would be paying 1200point in the end for there 4-5DLC so stop cry and play the game cause half of you cry babies will be putting your gears 3 in its case and on the shelf to collect dusk until dec.13 to play and complain about MW3 next tuesday anyways.

Quite frankly, I’m a bit upset at all of the hating going on in this thread. You know what? I bought the Season Pass too. I paid my dues, I got the maps. I don’t particularly enjoy Horde Mode all that much. I play almost exclusively online. . But guess what. . .

I would rather pay money so that Epic can give EVERYONE content than not pay anything and not get anything. So everyone gets to play the new maps online. . BFD, people. That means more people in the playlist! You should be HAPPY.

And on top of this, they’re releasing two NEW maps for FREE. F-R-E-E! They don’t HAVE to do this. They could’ve stuck those in the next DLC, or made ONE more map and made them a DLC on their own but instead, it’s FREE.

So those of you who’re whining about the Season Pass and how EVERY gamer gets to play these maps in online multiplayer, grow UP. I make minimum wage and I wouldn’t take back buying the season pass if I COULD. Stop being so self-righteous and selfish and just play the game, and if you don’t like the game anymore, stop playing. Nobody’s forcing you to be here and quite frankly, if this is how you act online too, nobody WANTS you there.

Oh, and here’s another point you all seem to be ignoring: If EVERYONE doesn’t get to play the new maps in multiplayer, NOBODY does, or else the people who didn’t HAVE them wouldn’t be able to connect to the game.

This means your choices are a BUNCH of extra playlists in which it takes forever to connect to a game, like in Gears 2, or you let people who didn’t pay, play. I’m backing Epic on this one.

From a Season Pass owner who knows what you’re trying to accomplish, thank you Epic, and thank you AGAIN for the FREE (I can’t stress that enough) maps coming later this month.

The versus booster pack is for the versus competitive players who get screwed by getting access to the three new maps in competitive versus. I payed for the season pass as well but I was pissed that the three new maps weren’t an option in public versus matches.
 
So here is the deal since you all are quick to speak before thinking:
 
I bought the season pass: so I can play the three new maps of the DLC on Horde, Beast, and private modes but the thing I want most is to play these maps on versus. Now for those who don’t buy the DLC or season pass but download the booster pack for free will only have access to the maps in versus. So those players who don’t have the DLC will not be able to play the three new maps in Horde, Beast, and Private modes. The booster map pack is only for competitive versus. So for all of you who bought the season pass like me we get to play the new maps in Beast, Horde and private matches, we get three new characters, and more achivements pretty good for a DLC and those who don’t have the DLC will only get access to the maps in versus from the booster. Yeah I had to break this down barney style to some of you.
 
Epic is freakin awesome compared to let’s say Rockstar, by the booster pack and the alpha playlist Epic is trying to please all the fans and other game companies don’t do that, a majority of you are ungrateful basturds who don’t think or appreicate shit.

The trust that all gears fans put in epic to buy the season pass was phenominal and should be rewarded by u guys, epic games. The thought that the people who trusted epic the most got cheated is beyond me. With gears three I saw the epic company rise to new height despite previous games that didn’t live up to expectations (gears 2). With the season pass purchasers should revieve their money’s worth and beyond that because they truly are epic’s biggest fans. Now that epic’s biggest fans are just given a couple weapon colors, a tiny upgrade to horde, and a couple different characters to run around as, and lastly maps that everyone will recieve; you can expect, epic games, to lose a lot of your closest fans. As a fan I expect to recieve either a refund of my microsoft points or a better dlc pack. If not you can expect me to start an anti dlc content campaign.

Loved alpha, little harder since you only get one new weapon instead of 4 or 5…lost connection a few times…but finally got one of the new maps, Rustlung, nice layout and tough to defend. Loved this past weekend and halloween with the pumpkin heads.

I bet you will continue to buy a lot of their products.  Most complaining people still pay money to those whom they dislike.  It’s a trait of the mentally impaired.

It clearly stated what the pass was for, 4 dlc packs, you bought it so don’t get all annoyed because its not what you specifically were after they are bringing stuff out for the whole gears community and alot of people play horde, including myself so get over it. 

Rant over, the alpha playlist is awesome ! 

I’m so ecstatic that the new maps are available to everyone. That was the problem with the last gears and the DLC, you never got to play it because no one had the maps.  Only a small fraction of consumer ever purchase the add-ons, they have shown the stats.  It was such a pain.  At least this way I actually get to see the new content in action. 

I think it’s fair that I can use the maps for online setups, private games and horde since I bought them and people who didn’t play have no control over if and when they get the new maps in matchmaking.  I’m totally fine with that and hopefully it means I’ll see them more than I did in Gears 2 when I play competitive online.

Second of all, everyone complaining about the Season Pass are too close-minded for their own good.  The DLC is already on the disc, at least the first pack.  They just needed to make a few changes to it.  Big deal.  Okay, well.  In order for them to make a work-around for it in public multiplayer, they are going this route.  See, if they would have made it available for people who purchased anyway, those who didn’t still could have played them due to it being on the disc.

This is okay.  I like that I will have this ability.  I can support the community and keep playing this wonderful game, and new wonderful content.  I haven’t even bought the Season Pass yet, and I’m going to.  And, what a majourity of you are failing to realise is this is just the first DLC.  Surely to goodness not all 4 packs are sitting on the disc waiting to be unlocked.  This is Epic’s way of supporting the multiplayer for now.  Not to mention the free users only get to play on those 3 maps with no extra content. 

Keep up the wonderful work, Epic.  Don’t pay mind to those who haven’t grown past their teenager minds, or are still in that phase.  I support you 100 percent, and will still purchase your products.  You are doing a wonderful job.

What are the weapon skins?

I like what Epic is doing with the map pack characters, I also have a character idea. Remember in gears of war 2 campain when B Carmine said that there where 3 Carmine left after Anthony died, Benjamin shortly died then there was 2. Clayton and a mistery brother. What Epic should put in as a future map pack character is D Carmine since Clayton is still alive and this was the last gears of war game. And it would also be epic having a team of 4 COG in the new ALPHA gamemode all being different Carmine.

Actually, the first DLC is the Horde Command Pack. The maps are the only part of that pack that are coming out for free. They will not be available in Public Multiplayer until they become free on the 24th. The other portions of the DLC, including characters, weapon skins, and achievements will not be available for anyone who hasn’t puchased the DLC. The DLC on its own is 800 MS points.

The Season Pass also grants everyone the RAAM’s Shadow DLC, which adds 3 hours to campaign, has six multiplayer characters, and more weapon skins and is 1200 MS points.

The Versus Booster Pack (The free maps coming out the 24th) are kind of a ‘excuse us for having the Horde Command Pack up late, and for selling you stuff already on the disc.’ This is not going to be a continuous event.

The Season Pass is 2400 MS points. The first two DLCs combined are 2000 MS points. Not to mention, the next two big DLCs are supposed to be for Versus. Imagine they are both 800 MS points each, as a typical map pack is.

That brings your total to 3600 MS points if you buy everything individually. Hell, exclude yourself from buying the Horde Command Pack, that still means you’ll have to pay 2800 MS points to buy the next 3 DLCs, instead of buying the Season Pass for 2400 points.

Do a little research next time, and learn to count before YOU talk out of YOUR ass.

While GOW1 is still my all-time favorite shooter and I still own my orginal copy( burn rings and all), Im am thoroughly enjoying GOW3, and a great idea for a playlist in my eyes would be one titled “Old School”. Where you bring back all the orginal weapons in GOW1 in GOW3 with their orginal strength. The shotguns only playlist was the closest thing to the GOW1 shotty

I don’t understand why people are crying like a bunch of 5 year olds. Those who bought the season pass are as of right now getting 5 pieces of DLC for their money.
Who wants to have gotten the horde maps and then when available not be able to play them in VS? By giving away these maps you will get more enjoyment out of them.
It’s messed up to ask for something which people were doing because of the delay and then bitch when Epic comes through with something like this as a form of apology.

Then you should have read the information properly before you bought them, they specified quite clearly that the maps weren’t going to be initially available for MP.  What part of “Horde Command Pack” did you find confusing!

Gow 3 is an amazing game.
a game with many possibilitys, the gamer and choose what she/he wanna play.
each type is individual and great.
different kinds of players can choose what they wanna play the most but have also the possibility to play different on and offline

fact is that actually and in the next months a lot of good games are coming out and to keep  a lot of people playing gow 3 – epic needs to do something to keep the onlineworld alive and filled with tons of people and only in that fact there are reasons to make create and work on new add ons and extras. there are still people who wanna get payed for their work and if there are to less people which are buying and playing a videogame , there is less money to work with and pay the people for their great work.

so everyone who is paying for the game, the dlc`s or whatever- doing something for their fun and saveing jobs. and that means they can work on making the game better and work on something new which will probably be amazing for the future.

The season pass situation:

it is including a lot of contents.
first the horde maps and upgrades
2 new maps in the next which are only for people who bought the sp or buy it online.
(3 maps are soon online for the mp which means more people are able to play them, which means more gamer are in the maps)

and more dlc`s are coming this and next year….

and i mean 2400 ms points for all instead of…

for example 2 maps 1200 points than an other update for 800 … and than an other for 800…. and you still have lesser stuff on your game instead of people who ve gotten the sp.

i’m not so much upset at everyone..as I am just disappointed. Okay we paid 2400 for the season pass..that grants us 4 DLC. not one..not two..but 4. try to stay with me here. this one cost 800..now 2400 divided by 4 is 600 meaning we saved 200 points on this DLC alone. okay so you all are upset that you cannot keep some sort of exclusivity to everyone else. you just saved 200 MS points *or whatever* and got one..of four…DLC. Okay so everyone gets the maps. Big deal. you just saved 200 points on THIS DLC..and who knows how much the OTHER DLC will cost. if rams costs 1200, which I doubt but still if it does, you just saved 600 MS points. even if it costs 800…you saved another 200..and by the time all 4 DLC are finished, you will have basically had a buy 3 and get 1 free DLC. do the math there. if your not happy with what you got, you don’t really know DLC for FPS games apparently. mostly their skins, maps, and guns.

okay so we get 2 FREE maps on the 24th..maps we don’t have to pay for..we get them free..everyone does. Happy Thanksgiving from Epic to you…still feel you have to have some sort of special “me only” club? this should be seen as a holiday present to us all from Epic, not some sort of “ravagment by epic for money” cause last I did the math..us season pass people are STILL SAVING MONEY. Im sorry but im not paying for fordifications that should have been in the game in the first place. Plus how is remaking old maps for free being “nice”? I paid for gears of war 1, so why would anyone pay for “updated graphics” of the same maps they already owned??

Damn, people are never happy. Personally, I’ve never had a problem with disk-locked content. If it wasn’t on the disk, what difference would it make? It’d just make things more inconvenient. Sheesh, you people need to appreciate the extraordinary amount of time, love and effort they’re putting into all of this downloadable content. Two free maps? Bullet Marsh and Clocktower? Hell yes! Thank you so much, Epic, for everything. The maps look and feel fantastic, and the fact that people are still scraping up reasons to complain is absolute nonsense. And hey, nobody’s perfect. who cares..the game is boring already…after gears 1&2,gears 3 is pretty boring already,once you have done the campaign,played horde and beast,gets boring so quickly,played online etc,not enough here to hold my interest…
ive brought the online  pass etc including the weapon skins pack for all the guns,but this game will not last long, many people will be playing call of duty mw3 and battlefield3,fifa 12 ,oblivion skyrim soon ,not too mention a new halo game too…

After the new campaign DLC, please bring an update for Beast mode, maybe have RAAM himself as a character, or story mode type beast mode, kind of like Left for Dead did. Just a thought, but either way keep up the good work EPIC, you prove every week your as dedicated to the fans as we are to you.

How does one go and get the new fortification unlocked in Horde? I’ve got the ones upto the silverback unlocked but I have no clue how to go about unlocking the new one. so please could someone shed a little light for me please….

One change I would really like to see is Team Deathmatch switching to Execution rules. It would greatly reduce the kill stealing since someone couldn’t shoot at your down from across the map. Other than that it all sounds great now I just need them to get the internet back on that has been out since the freak snowstorm on Saturday.

DLC? What a joke. Itwas a 1.4MB download. Content was already there on the disk. All they did was hold out on original game content and than grant access to it under the guise of DLC. BS epic.

I’m assuming if you don’t buy the HCP you won’t get the fortification upgrades either when the maps drop for public MP on the 24th.  Another incentive to get the Season Pass or buy the HCP outright.  Personally I play Horde almost exclusively so I like the fortification upgrades.

I think they need to make a statement that clarifies what content the season pass paid for and what’s free. Additionally, they might want to consider separating the releases for free content and paid content to avoid future poor communication debacles.

hi,,from what I have understood we, who paid for the seasons pass got the HORDE pack, and in all honesty is just skins,characters,upgrades for the defenses of our horde. The maps are honestly null and void for the 1st DLC, for if they will be released for free, they certainly should not be have been included in the 1st DLC offering, and truly EPIC which made a great game, should not have thought we would suck that down like a pepsi. I feel like the one person who said BAIT AND SWITCHED, and truly that is the case, in my opinion the 1st DLC was just that, and epic yes got paid for the stuff they will give for free, I surely feel taken, but still there are 3 more DLCS TO COME,,hope they do not drop the ball again, if its paid for, it should be EXCLUSIVE, like the characters that are being sold on ebay 2nd markets the mechanic baird and the savage kantus,for huge freaking dollars..Paid DLC stuff should NOT BE OFFERED LATER for free,,if you give the stuff to the world for free, why should we pay? Put the shoe on the other foot,,it would not serve well to those who are hard on money but love the game..

Now this guy has the idea,,TDM is a great idea,,but bottom line its not the kill stealing its the fact that some fool can take the OVER POWERED RETRO and down your butt from such distances and its over, and the team loses out, make the other team have to FIGHT for that kill, if hes downed, the other must come kill him, not sit back and take 2 bullets and end it,,Doing that alone would bring even more people to the TDM,,I stay away from it for that exact reason,just an opinion, just like a belly button..

Another good point. Execution in both GOW 1 & 2 had far more players than Warzone so I’m not sure what Epic was thinking using those gameplay rules. It needs to be changed just like they did with Annex in the past games. It would also assist a team that was being spawn killed because you could crawl back behind the wall and force the people to bring the firefight to you. I’ve been a Gears addict since day one and a big part of it is due to the execution rules. I’m sure the success of this playlist in the first two games shows that most other gamers agree.

The Versus Booster is a holiday present, a sorry for releasing the Horde Command Pack  few hours late, and a few free maps from Epic that ALL of you have been asking for. They originally had to do it this way because the HCP didn’t allow for tandard Versus play on the new maps

I agree but to make us think we are buying something but really we only bought half of what we got is kinda wrong they shouldn’t have included the maps in the dlc imo that would have solved the problem i love horde im more then happy with what i got but i can see why people are upset. I’m not an Epic hater, I’ve bought their season pass and rip off skins. But I’ve about had it!!

I am a very active Horde player. I purchased the season pass, and so far i am happy with the DLC. I was very impressed with the command center, and its upgrades, it works very well. I have yet to lvl up my silver back all the way, but I am working on that. The newest sentry turret, the one that adds fire to its damage has worked well for me so far, and I am happy all around. However one thing that I was extremely disappointed with was the new decoy. I was rather stoked about this upgrade when I was reading about it a couple weeks ago. But now that I have maxed out my decoys and got a chance to see what it was like… I was let down. The onyx guard you get from lvling up your decoys all the way, and spend 11,000 dollars in horde mode for, doesn’t follow you around, doesn’t defend the base you purchase, and wont even stay in the spot were u upgrade him. Instead he runs around, doesn’t get any kills, cant take a great deal of damage, and goes down far away from your base just to get curb stomped. If you do risk you hide to go out and get him, he always seems to be surrounded by enemies, so more than likely you will follow his fate too. Epic you chose to give him a Gnasher shotgun only? I have yet to see him use any other weapon or pick anything up so I think you should also give this bot some type of mid to long range weapon, so maybe he wont run around as much. I was expecting a lot more from this upgrade than I got, somehow Epic really should fix this. He doesn’t need to be able to take on a Brumak, he doesn’t need to dance with Berserkers, and I don’t need him to even give me the points for what ever kills he does manage to get. But what I do need from this ‘Decoy’ is I need him to stay near me/my base/or were I purchase him, so he can just distract some of the enemies while I headshot some drones, and Boomshot some Grinders. Please epic, renew my faith in this onyx guard decoy, by making him worth the money I need to spend to get him.

Was a major disappointment. From what it sounded like the guard was
going to kinda follow me around, and watch my back. At least that’s what I understood from what I read. He doesn’t even do that, and he doesn’t
even stay in the spot were I purchase him, Nor does he defend my base. If I do risk my Hide to go pick him up, he tends to be around a lot of enemies, so I tend to end up just like my worthless onyx guard.. on the bottom of a boot. What would be awesome Epic is if you somehow made this bot worth the amount of money you have to put into him, either by putting a leash around him so he follows the person who purchased him, or tie him to a command post, or even just by giving him a mid to long range weapon and having him defend the area he is purchase at. Right now, the 11,000 that you have to drop to get this onyx guard just is not worth it, he just ends up dieing to easily, and not being what he really is supposed to be. This onyx guard is supposed to be a ‘decoy’ but he is not helping me by running across the map, and having enemies who cant even see me, shoot at him. If he was beside me, or in the general area of my base, and enemies had to choose to shoot at him OR me, then that would make him worth his weight. Right now he just doesn’t cut it, and I think you will find that a lot of people wont spend the extra 5000 cash to upgrade to him, cause he just end up being a waste. It was an awesome idea Epic, and it has so much potential. But as of right now, I would rather spend the money on a barrier, than waist my money on this bot. :/.. I hope you spend a little time, altering the onyx guard and what he does to at least make him a little better. Hope you like this feed back, and keep up the good work.

Look. Im tired of people going and critizing Epic for giving a damn map pack free. Epic wants to do something for the map pack coming late for us and now your all raging like assholes. The season passes are for getting map packs early too, Did you forget about that? All your doing is paying another 150 for every map pack. Is that really a big deal?

as with any map pack game, the maps are always released to the public for free at some point (and the people who don’t pay dont get to play these maps privately, only in public matches). exclusivity is not fun or fair in my opinion. the season pass is not an entitlement to get exclusive content, it is simply a discount. If you want the content and want to save some money buy it, if not then don’t. either way grown people whining gets annoying very quickly.

I don’t understand why people are crying like babies over this. The Horde Command pack was designed just for that, HORDE. It was a a small DLC (2MB) to expand on HORDE mode, hence the name. I bought the Season Pass and I have no problem with Epic making the 3 maps that came specifically for Horde available for MP.

They’re really not. The DLC promised was the Horde Command Pack, to include three new maps for horde, the new horde upgrades and some skins. That’s it. The people “getting the maps for free” aren’t ACTUALLY getting the maps for free. They don’t get to play them on Horde. They only get to play them when they come up in the multiplayer playlist that they’re in. This is so that Epic doesn’t have to split the playlists and make us wait longer for matches.

Nobody woulda complained if they hadn’t put them into the playlist. You would have downloaded your DLC and been happy to have paid for the season pass. People who didn’t pay are NOT getting the promised DLC, Epic is simply giving EVERYONE something EXTRA.

Also, you have no idea who those likes are from. All you know is that more than 50 people agree with me.

That was simply an example of how Epic is a good company. It had little to do with the actual DLC.

Also, on the point of the Season Pass. . This is a buyer beware situation. You should have KNOWN. Epic said “The first DLC is the Horde Command Pack. You get that and 3 other ones for 30 dollars” and released NO other information. You are getting EXACTLY what you were promised.

If I held up a nondescript box and said “I’ll sell this to you for 30 dollars. There are 4 things in here and one of them is a candy bar.” and you bought the box, I’ve not cheated you in ANY way if you don’t like the other 3 items. YOU should have been more careful in your decision making.

Epic didn’t lie. They didn’t cheat anybody. And most importantly, the “multiplayer booster pack” isn’t even a part of this DLC. It’s totally seperate. It simply allows everyone to play the maps in the playlists so that we can find matches as fast as possible.

It’s a win-win! I can’t see how anybody is still ignorant of this. So what if some people get something for free? Big whoop. That doesn’t affect YOU any. As a bonus, you find matches faster! More playtime! Huzzah!

This is incredible.  Giving away free map packs.  In a day and age that is polluted by greedy third party developers and publishers *cough* Activision *cough* Capcom *cough* it’s nice to see a publisher and a developer who actually think about the players and their customers over how heavy their wallets are.

Sure it’s a tad dissapointing that I bought the Season Pass and that they will be releasing the maps for free, but I’m not down about it, I still get the weapon skins, the three characters, and the Command Center in Horde which I play a lot.

They should have announce that the maps were available to everyone and I would not have bought them.  If I have it then the people that join my game can play too that is not right.. They can make it so only people with the game can get it on line and off line, it was done in gears 2 with all the map packs.  Its done in call of duty and halo… I feel cheated and want a refund on my season pass.

Please bring back Canals and War Machine. Those are the two best maps in Gears 1 and 2. I am sure that a lot of Gears veterans also agree with me.

I personally see the Alpha playlist as a waste of space, it’s really not that different to King of the Hill and shouldn’t warrant its own playlist.

Bring back Hardcore Mode, not for the weekend, as a permanant playlist. Its all about you and your shotgun. I guarentee you will see it above any of the other playlists bar team death match.

Finally more locust multiplayer characters would be nice considering you’ve released COG.

just an idea for alpha… take off KOTH and put on cap the leader… then u got a great playlist..

why not make history but competitive? ie, the 4 gamers are set, and can choose a random chapter in Insane difficulty, the team that finishes in less time and with all Lambet or Locust dead is the winner, even you can give extra points to collect the COG tags or Collectibles, in the game you can put a meter indicating the progress of each team, with this, encourage co-op team work and a lot of frustration if a gamer is not really playing

hey for all you complainers out there i bought the season pass too  and like most of you for mp purposes you people are the first people i have seen bitch about getting free maps.  You had the season pass even before they announced the free stuff so how does it effect you now any diffrent. Its not like this free download takes away from your season pass. soo wat some people get three maps for free this means your friends who didnt buy it can play mp with you to.  And as compansation epic gives you two free maps and your going to bitch get over it they did not have to do this but they did soo thank them.

I agree that it’s better to have something than nothing released from epic but at the same time my thought is why is it so hard to set it up so that only paying pass holders have access to the extra maps? and not release them free to everyone?

epic is F***ing up. ive been playing all morning and there is no double xp. yet, there are people claiming there is. these people are idiots and epic needs to get there S*** together

Imo, they could have just made like in CoD. The maps are in the normal playlist and if you didnt own the map pack you would have been kicked. By letting everyone getting a free DLC, It’s like if those who paid for the Horde command pack contributed to those who didnt care to pay. Now i feel that i got scammed for my S.P. since that every new multiplayer maps will be released anyway as free. That’s disapointing from them.

I can’t really tell if the double xp is going on, cause my points is high and my xp is only a 400 difference majority of the time…

My complaint is that Ive been serving overseas and recently came back to America this year, bought Gears of War 2 and currently playing Gears of War 3, also bought Gears of War 1, and I must say the game franchise is pretty awesome, but I don’t have the flame weapon skin,(I know you get it from the beta) is there a way people who did not get the beta, can get the medals, characters, and weapon skins available to them? To also say that forget all those new games that are coming out. Call of duty sucks, bf3 is trying to have everything like using the Jets, sorry leave that for Ace Combat, and Skyrim is just another World of  Warcraft its addictive and boring… They should of left Halo at Halo 2, now that was the  best Halo game.  Frankly I’m tired of all these shooters that are trying to make its way to the market what happened to the Action Adventure role playing RPG? I recommend that it be execution only. I’ve grown to not like the drawn out TDM games. I usually play quick match though, so another solution would be to allow me to choose whether or not I would like to join if it’s king of the hill or TDM. I’d just like to not be thrown in to a match in a gametype I don’t like, and then have to leave and get a loss.

I have a huge problem! I downloaded the seasons pass and it won’t let me download the DLC for free… I think it’s glitched because I also have weapon skins that I’ve bought and those aren’t working either. If anyone can help me or anything that’d be great

Love the alpha playlist, its how the game should have been played in the first place, the sawed off is def a pick up weapon. Now the game play has changed in its entirety, no more bad kids camping behind a wall with the sawed off and the overly powered retro lancer the whole match. its actually gears of war again suck it up if you suck with the gnasher cry about it, get some skill!

I was playing today in KOTH, and I was still getting from 150-180xp per kill.  WTF?  Between the delay with the first DLC and the lack of double xp during this promotion, Epic is having an epic FAIL.

Exactly what I’ve been thinking. why is everybody complaining about the season pass? you have only gotten one out of four of the dlc’s. Not to mention that it clearly states that there could be more than four. Epic has always done a good job of taking care of us. I find it hard to believe that the fan base for such a hardcore game like Gears is made up of whining little ingrates.

I am pleased with DLC’s. No complaint’s here at all.

Just had one last play to see if the Double XP was on and it isn’t.

the dlc was in the disk! and now it’s free. ah yeah! i paid 2400 for two skins, a fortification and 3 characters (but i use only baird).

Not sure how someone can be selfish when they paid 30 dollars for DLC. Big whoop, they can’t play horde on these maps. They still get the bulk of what it’s about (Multiplayer). I know they didn’t lie to us, I’m just surprised they would do this. I would have put a bit more thought into the purchase if I knew they were going to do this. I understand the whole horde command pack deal people are pretty pissed about, but if this becomes a continuous event, I’ll only be more disappointed in EPIC. And by the way, if i had to wait an extra 5 minutes to play with people who were passionate enough to shell out some cash for the game, I would.

You feel like you got scammed because you are an idiot that doesn’t understand the ramifications of having an effective fork of the playerbase with each DLC release.  Either everyone buys everything, or things get too fragmented in between.

Wake up and realize that it’s the responsibility of those who can to carry those who can’t, and be glad you have the extra money to contribute to such a great game and the continuation of a large player base for it.
