GearsWeekend: Blades and ‘Nades KOTH Event

Are you ready for Blades and ‘Nades KOTH? No you won’t be skating around Old Town on your ice skates, you’ll be charging with your Retro Lancer and tossing your Frag Grenades into the ring. The Snub will be replaced by the Gorgon for some close up action. In your loadout, you will have the Retro Lancer and the Gorgon and all grenade pickups will be replaced with Frag Grenades. This is certain to be one explosive playlist! Don’t forget, we’ve added a visual indicator pointing out the next ring in Title Update 2 released earlier this week.

  I could tell you think get alot of kills for this event i had no problem using the retro because i use both the lancer and retro The people who refused to use the retro just because they call it a “Noob” weapon from the start of the game only ended up hurting themselves because you aren’t use to using it at all. This is how i personally feel i dont have anything against nobody but if you really hate the retro lancer and sawed off shotgun that much here is a simple solution for you take out gears of war 3 from your xbox 360 and put in gears of war 2 problem solved stop living in the past dudes you guys are trying to make gears 3 like gears 2 whats the point in that?

Not a fan of next ring indicator. The element of surprise and resulting chaos adds to the beauty of KOTH. I saw the live pod cast (aka rodcast) and don’t agree with rod’s argument that it helps to reduce team domination. Last couple of days I have seen increase in team domination. Dominating teams pretty much abandon the ring in last 10 secs and move to the next ring as a team. Earlier, it was not possible as rings would appear randomly.

Hey Epic, how about a Classic Playlist, you know: Slightly closer camera angle like in GOW1, and nothing but the classic weapons.

Basically Lancers (keeping the chainsaw duels), Gnashers, Hammerbursts, Pistols and Boltoks, Smoke and Frags, Boomshots, Longshots and occasional Torque Bow.

Least fun event yet! No jabs just did not feel it. And why even give a ribbon when you cant see them in your stats and awards? I like getting new stuff just not being able to show them off stinks.

Played a few games. Absolutely loved it. Previously my fave was Torque Bow Tag, but this takes the cake.

-Let’s the Gorgon have it’s moment in the sun.

-The risk/reward of retro charging into the ring is a lot of fun

-Rewards smart, intelligent, tactical play. A good reminder that aiming and getting headshots are not the only valid skills. Gives those other skills ‘situational awareness’ etc a chance to shine.

-The Gorgon is the best sounding gun in the game.

This event was a let down. All the weapons spawns should have frags, it would have made capturing the ‘hill’ more interesting. The Torque Bow Tag and One Shot, One Kill events have been the best so far. Please run these events again or do the pyro event with scorchers and flame grenades. *i can’t pronounce the name of those nades*

Just got a chance to comment on ‘Nades n Frags’ this was DAMN FUN!!!! Got to say that I was not excited about it when I first read about it. But was supprized and HAD ON HELLA GOOD TIME!!!
