Seven New Achievements to Earn in Fenix Rising DLC

As if 5 awesome multiplayer maps weren’t enough we’re adding even more fuel to the Fenix Rising DLC with 7 new achievements totaling an additional 250 points. Don’t forget: Fenix Rising debuts on the Xbox LIVE marketplace on January 17^th for just 800 Microsoft Points – or, for Season Pass holders, FREE!

Now They Begin to Understand – Complete 12 waves of Beast on all Fenix Rising Maps. (20 points)
Defending the Past – Complete all 50 waves of Horde on any of the Fenix Rising Maps. (25 points)
Come to Poppa – Win a Versus multiplayer match as a team of five Recruit Claytons (any mode). (15 points)
Locust, Forever – Win a Versus multiplayer match as a team of five Savage Marauders (any mode). (15 points)
Time to Re-up – Achieve level 100 and choose to re-up for another tour of duty. (50 points)
Again! – Achieve level 100 a second time and choose to re-up for another tour of duty. (50 points)
I’ve Done it All! – Earn at least one of each of the original 132 combat ribbons. (75 points)

I think leveling in Gears is a bit harder than leveling in Modern Warfare, so maybe 3 is good enough for now. If they plan to add more levels, but better perks for leveling up, then I’m all for it, but for now, 3 is enough for me at least.

    It looks like, from the wording of the achievement that you get the achievement when you choose to re-up for the third time, so technically you won’t have to reach 100 for the third time, you’ll get it when you go straight from the 2nd re-up level 100 back to level 1 (of the 3rd).

        I don’t remember all the storyline particulars, but they explained the Sires as being some sort of scientific experiment, if I remember correctly. I think the first time you fought them was in a room full of upright, glass incubation tubes.

Looking forward to this one. I really hope EPIC doesn’t burn out on Gears3 this year though. I love the way the game plays, hopefully they’ll keep some new DLC coming for next year though. Maybe not as much, but at least a few maps here and there. (Could care less about weapon skins……who would waste money on THAT!?!?)

honestly new maps are cool, and new characters are sweet but Epic needs to step there game up cuz all new DLC’s are always new maps maybe more characters, why not new weapons? id love to see an smg besides the gorgon for a rifle or shotgun slot, another type of shotgun like a pump action with more range than the gnasher but less powerful and less ammo to keep it balanced. or a new sniper rifle thats a semi auto with like a 5 or 10 round mag but again less powerful than the longshot. and the playlists need to be fixed. brothers to the end should be a permanent playlist and it needs to be at least 2 or 3 rounds not fucking 1, and if your gonna force me to start with a lancer and have to pick up a retro then u should take the power weapons like the boomshot off, either take all power weapons off or leave em on and let me choose my starting weapons. i feel like Epic is cutting themselves short with lack of playlists. just an idea but there should aslo be a free for all mode, like wingman or tdm but every man for himself and a hardcore mode with only starting weapons and ammo boxes and nothing is only 1 round, thats dumb.

    it wouldnt make it like cod. that whole idea is a double edged sword, Epic is known for makin there games different from everything else like shitty ass cod but some things work regardless of the game like tdm (one of the oldest playlists in gaming and still going strong for a reason) which is why they added it to 3, but they put a gears twist on it (pool of lives instead of set score) which is great. u cant wave off an idea just because another game has it, especially cuz its hard to be completely original now a days and not everyone likes guardian, ive been playin since gears 1, i play it religiously and i consider myself quite good at it and a gears vet but i think guardian is fuckin lame, not to say it shouldnt be added but that just gets back to what im sayin about Epic cutting themselves short, the more playlists u have the wider the audience u appeal too which is better from a business standpoint, but Epic needs to stick true to its notoriety and do something with its DLC that no one else does, add new weapons and balance them accordingly and fix their playlists and add new ones like free for all (the other oldest playlist in gaming). if Epic does this then they’ll prove to me that they’re not being complacent with their games like they have been doing with their last few events and playlists, they seem to have great ideas and then just drop the ball like only having 1 round is dumb, should be at least 2 or 3 so in a match u can indefinitely prove whos better, one round proves nothing, just sayin

It may be a bigger franchise but that’s only cus it’s full of campers and gay kill streak rewards. No skill required. Anyway epic have made an amazing game. In my opinion, because this is the last in the series all maps from gow 1 & 2 should be included with all Playlists from both. It should have every option possible giving everyone more variety. It’s almost future proof due to the fact that it takes so long to achieve seriously 3.0.

The achievements are hard to keep you playing the game I understand that. But I don’t really like trying to ralley up players to all be a certain character so I can get an achievement. Like the achievement to be Raam and execute Minh. Who know who will be that character because they know if you are Minh everyone is gunning for you. It’s more about luck then skill.

Yo. So if I have over 3 million exp past my first set of wings (lvl 100) – when I re up, will that go towards my next levels or will it not count? I also have earned some medals I don’t want to lose either – such as my all fathers medals- will those get reset too if I decide to prestige? ?? :/

Wow, maybe the rank reset should be fixed first I have at least 10 friends that have been reset. I’m 93 now and I rarely play. I highly doubt this is going to work out like it should this is going to fuck everybody over that actually wastes their time. I call BULLSHIT. maps are great but i dont think this will be worth the money. i bought the season pass, i am thankful for that smart decision *sarcasm*, but i think epic is falling short on ideas of what DLC really should be. imo nobody should be paying for achievements… @EYYY CHECK ITT!! the maps may probably be free at a later date for non pass holders. like they said for the command pack maps they want to thank the community of cheap fux so give the whiniest of all gears the grease right? cross your fingers they dont. whoever said they should fix what they have as well as add more game modes is exactly right. i havent played gow3 in months since battlefield and skyrim because theres nothign new about it unless you choose a different character or you want to try the new playlists which lose their novelty after a few plays.

just like Halo: Reach I played it for a couple of months then I got bored of it, and one day I couldn’t find any games to play so I started playing it again and now i’m doing the same thing with gears of war 3 but last week I bought points and with ‘em I bought RAAMS shadow and horde command pack DLCs I then I went on Facebook and saw that the season pass was on sale and I said “Boy, did I get fucked” but I find the DLCs pretty fun, make sure though you look to see if a season pass for any game is on sale before you buy them.

I’m a big GoW fan but was thinking these achievements are way out of my depth seen as I’m only a part-time hardcore gamer (3-4 hrs a week Yes yes I know, sad times! ). Seems these are reasonabl for the insane vets but considering this is the last in the title and by my opinion the best out the three, it’s almost mandatory they want to give us more! I can see my self playing GoW 1, 2 and 3 five years from now. It will be like the God Father trilogy I keep playing every so often, it’s a classic! From AI to Storyline to Characters!

I guess I’ll be getting the Time To Re-up achievement the first day. Getting level 100 isn’t hard unless you just suck or can’t afford a good connection. I know some people to that stupid crap where they leave there Xbox on all night but it’s just not that hard. Get some skill and grow a pair.

Love the increase in difficulty attributed to re-up twice, especially as a more casual player. New maps and some more characters are indeed fun, but appreciate Epic adding additional incentives to work towards like Seriously 3.0. I’d love to see more Campaign stuff, enjoyed the Raam’s Shadow stuff. Perhaps sort of what we see in the first 2 Act’s where you play from one groups perspective, why not show what is happening with Cole, Baird, and Carmine after Marcus and company split off for the push for fuel, sub, and Azura end-game.

Regardless, looking forward to this DLC release and news for the 4th one. But I can totally understand a fans ever growing hunger for more content, many of us, casual or hardcore fan alike, aren’t ready to walk away from the Gears world quite yet.

Hey Cliffy B, I enjoyed the RAAM’s Shadow DLC. I unlocked every achievement in the DLC also, after the Fenix Rising DLC you should (in my opinion) make one thats called For The Horde DLC. It should include Thrashball Drone, RAAM when he was a Theron Guard XD, an awesome campaign that you play as RAAM and you work together with Skorge and all of that awesomeness. Or you play as Skorge and you work together with RAAM. And for the COG characters you should add a very young kid and like you cant pick up a mulcher or any of those heavy stuff. I think I typed too much but I would like it if you made a new DLC as cool as this one that I just said xD

I think it’s awesome that they’re adding new achievements. Gives some incentive to do stuff I otherwise wouldn’t do/think to do. Slowly but steadily working my way towards Seriously 3.0, but I have like every other achievement so… Still a great game Epic, I’m really enjoying it. Hey epic, today i ran into a “Gears of SRK” he had the seriously 3.0 medal but the title “ive got the codes” he also did not have the seriously 3.0 acheivement. He had the invisible pixelated skin. A few of the things i noticed. Not what bothers me, what bothers me is that he tends to take alot of shots. Ultimately its ,obviously, the fact he was playing online! I thought to myself no big deal, but what pestered me is that someone who is probably not a modder and just en epic member should know enough about the game. But he SUCKS AT IT! Its no fair how he can mod as he see’s fit while players like me are stuck actually working the game. Unless…you can prove me wrong sincerely, a fan…sort of…not really because of this -__-

I personally think this is a good idea to level up to 100 two more times simply because earning every single onyx medal will take about the same time.

Oh my god, One person says something bad, and that’s all this thread is going to talk about? I like the idea of this DLC. I had the code for the beta, but lived in a city that didn’t have any high speed internet, so I like the idea that I might be able to gain access to cole train, whose constant grayed out character was a thorn in my completionist side. I respect that there will still be a difference between Beta testers and dlc owners, and I couldn’t be happier at the idea of an amazing new locust skin to play as.

Looks Great Just a couple things i need to know about the re up system, what happens to all my exp right now? i am lvl 100 and i have like 500000 extra exp add on to that will it carry on to my next re up cause then there should be no point of me trying to get onyx medals right now since if i get them it will just be a waste right? im at 5900 gnasher kills should i just wait till the re up comes then get onyx?

The ribbons acheivement would be great if there werent like 5 of them that are either glitched or very hard/impossible to get like the “kill your nemesis” ribbon and the healing ribbons for the kantus, not to mention the ribbons for the labent drudges, which i have never seen a situation that would allow killing 3 headsnakes or destroying their limbs, im sure im forgetting a couple as well

Can the range of the Sawed-off and retro lancer be dulled down some? They are already power houses. Can the range of the Gnasher be dulled some but more power sometimes its more like a pee shooter then a shotgun.
