New Gears of War: Judgment Video, “The Guts of Gears”

Microsoft and Epic Games today unveiled a new “Gears of War: Judgment” video entitled “The Guts of Gears,” giving fans an in-depth preview of the most intense and action-packed “Gears” campaign yet in the highly anticipated blockbuster, which launches on March, 19th 2013. Narrated by the game’s hero and fan-favorite character Lt. Baird, the video offers a sneak peek at the wealth of exciting new campaign features, including the dynamic Smart Spawn System, new weapons, dynamic defense scenarios, Declassified Missions, new player rewards, and more.

Additionally, Microsoft and Epic Games also announced that initial launch quantities of “Gears of War: Judgment” will include a Games on Demand Xbox LIVE download token for the epic game that started it all, “Gears of War,” in all worldwide regions except Germany.* Research indicates that more than half of the consumers who played “Gears of War 3” did so without having experienced the original title from Epic Games.   I don’t think that’s bad at all, since it looks like they reduced the area of effect of the shot, so it’s more like a more powerfull gnasher. I don’t mind at all!

  Its pretty much the gnasher except with 2 bullets, and a wider range. Thats all. They say to not look back at it from gears 3 but a gnasher jr xD. The damage is less. Don’t worry.

I can’t wait to hear how disappointed people will be when this comes out. I played Gears since 2006, and of course I will buy this, but I will not play it. Epid, you’re advertising the game to attract Gears of War players, but changed the gameplay to attract a new style of gamers to make more sales, disgusting.

    No, in multiplayer, it’s DBNO for about 4 or 5 sec… then you die. (as can be seen in overrun). but for horde and campaign it’s still the same.

a prequel game with better weapons and more options with them ? in some ways sounds stupid but if everything is scavenged and bodged together the current games still fit… but the idea of using any gun with a shield kinda fucks logic abit…

ive been playing gears since it first came out. i was even top ten in wingman for gears of war 2 until all the modders took place. unfortunately this isnt the gears i know anymore… i know that this is more of a test to see how fans will react, but im a good fan of the series and i like how it was back in the day with gears of war one. one bullet for longshot, no sawed off, no retro lancer. or at least make it so u cant spawn with those. the game is more intense and rewarding when u can beat other people with strafe and wallbouncing or popping their head off with a well placed longshot bullet. please dont make this game all noob friendly, because people just exploit it. like the sawed off. its just a free kill. you dont have to aim very much. just hit and run away. (sorry to all the sawed off lovers). and the retro just decimated people from any range. im not even gonna talk about how ridiculous it was when u got an active on that thing. anyways you’ll probably not do anything different and a lot of the new gears of war fans are most likely gonna disagree with me.. so i guess ill ask for something that everybody would want. for the new xbox, you’ll have a lot more processing power (although its not even that much since they need it to be affordable at a low price) when u use a new game engine can u like make the gore awesome? well.. awesomer? haha. and never stop creating gears of war games. but yea im talking like u blow half of him away and his guts fall out. yea im sick like that. ok, c ya

  i agree with this, i hardly see anyone who can play gears like we used too, all i see now is a team of people running around with sawn offs just shooting. its bad enough with one bullet but at least you could survive sometimes but 2 bullets thats like say “hello we have an overpowered shotgun and it comes with a backup shot”, you know people are going to exploit it soo much and adding a machine gun to the boomshield is annoying, you used to have to use your mind a bit more and think how you are going to play but now its just going to be full of nooby people running around with boomshields and sawn offs

sawed off will suck more than in Gears 3 and why can Locusts mutate now, like the Rager??? It’s so sensless, even that the horde is shooting with the hammerburst2. You should call the Game “Gears of Duty”, the control is now the same like in Call of Duty. And why is the crosshair always on??? Well, it looks well, for Gears of Duty, but I don’t think that it’s as deep as Gears 1 & 2.
Call of Duty Players will have fun for a short time with this Game but not true Gears-Heads.
Sorry Guys, I will not buy this Game.

The new campaign looks amazing, but I’m still upset with all of the “more accessible” changes going into multiplayer. I hate to say it, but the main reason I’m pre-ordering is for the classic hammerburst, so I won’t get killed by a bunch of people using it if it’s overpowered. Otherwise I’d wait or just buy it used.

I love this game since the first time I played it in 2006. Unfortunately over time the game is full of cowards. Not only those who attack you from behind, now we have to tolerate those who use the sawed off shotgun, the retro lancer and Hammerburst,cowards who attack only from afar and always three or least two againts one. Epic gave them the opportunity to play against us. Only players from the old school honor the game. We fight one on one and use the shotgun to make it more personal. To Judgment I do not expect things to change. Personally I´ll get all the achievements and once I achieved them, I will leave the game, like I did with Gears of War 3. There aren’t bad games,I said it before and I say it now it’s just filled with fagots.

So I read through all the comments and gotta say I’m impressed, I didn’t see anyone bitching about Seriously or achievements in general like I have on every other page. I honestly wish achievements would die and games would just go back to unlocks as too many people play games only for achievements or won’t buy a game because the achievements to hard or time consuming. It’s sad I miss the days where people played for fun and played multiplayer for competition not achievements and not to shit talk. Anyway really looking forward to this and can’t wait I like how stopping power is gone and from what I’ve heard so is stuns from ink grenades and frags blast radious got lowered. All in all looks like they are making some good decisions.

what they have been doing to gears is a mistake they should just remake gears 1 with better graphics and with dedicated servers. no sawed offs, retro lancers and no semi auto snipers like wtf the is that i get souped when i see the special gamemodes with snipers but then i join and there semi auto its bull. and you dont get downed in judgment that’s a huge part of the game it makes it different than other games now it just looks like 3rd person halo now with all these new guns and not getting downed . i dont mind the new guns in the campaign but in multiplayer that’s ridiculous. gow 3 is just sawed offs now, i dont even have fun in the game anymore i dont know what there doing.

I’m quite the gears fan. I started with 2 about when 3 came out. Since then played them all. Gears 1 was well rounded and all, but not very good at many kinds of diversity in gameplay or multiplayer. Since then, multiplayer has improved and I’m sure it will in Judgment too.
As for the retro and sawed off, I think the reason is for people to use ranged weapons in firefights and not bounce around like idiots. Also it is it’s own weapon alone with you now, it can’t be ‘one try best of luck’. If Epic thinks that it will make the game more well rounded, then I’m all for it.
