Other than paying for Epic’s salaries we paid for a game that we expected to work correctly since it’s been delayed for over a year. The story line of the sucks, WAY TOO MUCH COLE, and is “foosball”. Beast mod is only 12 waves, Horde 2.0 is not as good as Horde in Gears 2, and to top it off you MFs Killed off Dom! Now this crap. I paid for the ”Season Pass” on launch day!, and I pre-ordered the game WHAT A LET DOWN! This is the Last Epic game I buy! I bet I;m not the only one that feels this way!

No i think it’s pretty dumb to get the seriously 3.0 you’d have to be a beta tester. Most of the testers don’t play anymore, and the majority of people who still play it weren’t invited or they aren’t beta testers. That’s the only fluke of the Medals.

well i love gears been playing since the release of gears of war but at my own fault i dint play the beta not knowing or even thinking that there would be exclusive beta content had i known then whut i know now anyways to late now but the thing that urks me the most is having the unlocks i can never unlock  teasing me like nah nah nah boo boo you can never get me now but yea it was my fault i just wish thed at least take that shit outa my menus so i dont have to see it and kick myself in the head every time i do

Truth is sometimes relative to the point of view.
Now my truth is this if you want to accept it: I’m a fan like others of the franchise and i wouldn’t change one GOW game (any) for the entire series of COD MW I own every copy and every Guide and the last Epic Edition of the Game. Now since the Beta Tester have their merit they also were for the purpose to help the rest with improvements in the game for the greater good. This is a Mature game so most of us are over 18 but a great part of us are over 25 and we still faithfull to the game playing it and following it but we don’t have the luxury of time for Beta Testing we prefer the final polished product thanks to the people that tested and the people that made the fixes (Epic Team). Now the point is it make sense the price for the Beta Tester in the Game but it doesn’t make sense to the rest that also enjoyed the game and also the new players that started to played and like it after the third and even bought 1 and/or 2 or the triple pack. So my suggestion as fare as I can consider. SERIOUSLY 3.0 could be accessible to everyone that takes everything in the game but not the Beta Tester Medal and SERIOUSLY 3.1 for those that did the greater job. Thanks a lot and I’m sorry for the long post i thought it needed to make sense the explanation.

And for the record I see more onyx Gnasher medals out there than I do Sawed Off. That should tell you which one is played more.

The shitty gnasher takes no skill and you can drop someone from a distance away. Just like the rest of the guns, they all have pros and cons. So get over it and Epic DOES NOT need to take out the sawed off just because you no skill havin ppl dont like it. EXCEPT IT!!!! And you talk about ppl ”camping” with the sawed off and yet the most popular gun camped with is the other pussy gun, LANCER. You think us sawed off users are noobs cause we got the true skill to run up on you lil girls and blast your ass to pieces, keep your distance like the bitches you are and dont complain when you get popped by that skilled player. Actually I disagree with people saying skill for a sawed off, when I find a sawed off on the ground, I pick it up because I know for a fact that I can’t be killed with it because I feel invincible, usually when I am playing CTL I pick one up as I am the leader and keep it with me because if a fool comes near me POW! Bye bye, because the sawed off just wipes them up, I use the Gnasher because it’s more challenging, mainly because I strictly DON’T use it long range because it’s a shotgun… On the other hand, when the other player is clearly using a sawed off and running straight for me, there are 4 ways to kill him, either make sure you take the perfect shot aiming with your Gnasher and try and get a kill on kill, shoot him long range with the Gnasher, as soon as he shoots dive back which barely ever works, or run away, hide behind a wall minute he comes, fly through with your Gnasher and blast him down.
Plus with a sawed off, if someone kills me with it, I usually just think ‘He must be finding it hard to get kills, I shall just let him have it.’ hahahahaha!

Al those comments! I like the fact that Epic brought more guns to the game. I’m I a noob? Nope, Am I an Expert? Nope, not at all. But I bought the Epic Edition (Imported it in the Netherlands) just because GoW changed my life! It maybe sound sad, but before I only played Mario/Zelda games and way bach (I am 29y) I played Soldier Of Fortune.

I am thankfull the Epic adds a shitload of different style/use to weapons. Now I can be killed online by pro’s in many more ways and have a good laugh on itt because it looks so DAMN good on my screen (especially with the ‘special kill’s).
Another thing is that it triggers me to become better in the game because it’s no more hide and seek (read: cover game) but also like someone said below a challenge to not get killed by some guy/girl running to you while your hiding

No you’re wrong, sawed off kills doesn’t take no skill what so ever to get, you’re either camping and waiting for someone to pass by or you walk up on the person in a middle of a fight and kill them, and you can get multiple kills at once with a sawed off and not with a gnasher, so before you start dissing a gnasher, so learn how to get some skill and use one before you make a false accusation about it

i agree that the sawed off takes skill.. to get in range of someone at a distance with different wall bouncing techniques and strafing tactics. to get a kill itself isn’t hard persay, you dont have to aim, you pull RT and if you are in range, thats 175 points for you, if you are just out of melee distance it’s a one shot kill. anywhere inside is guarenteed. I use the gnasher myself, i find it takes skill, seeing as it’s a more mobile gun in my opinion, you have to be quick and agile and get good shots on your oppenent to down/kill him/her. youre not a pussy for using sawed off by no means, i just disagree that the gnasher is for pussies. it takes as much skill to use as the sawed off. ive used the sawed off quite a bit and i liked using it, to me its easy. but once i get in a lobby with skilled gnasher players, its mad hard to get a kill. anywa, theres my two cents

I can respect that opinion. I can say it takes skill to do a face to face shoot out with the gnasher. However I just move side to side and melee the person. But its real easy if you have your settings set right. I found the right settings for that and the sniper. However, my point about the gnasher bein a sissy gun is that you can drop ppl as they run away or if they’re just a good distance away. I think the range for it needs to be dropped alot. We have rifles for that you know. The sawed off is easy to me now too although they took the spread down alot and you gotta get just right to kill now. I mainly use is because I want my ONYX medals and as everyone knows, you need 6,000 kills with all guns to get them. The gnasher at melee range is one shot kill too so I dont see what the fuss is about. Its all equaled out. So all I say is everyone shouldnt complain because its here for a reason and its a medal to add to the collection and everyone needs to stop complaining or get better at evading it. Its easy now.

Its not always a one shot kill. I’ve recently been usin the piece of shit gnasher to get my medals and gettin pretty pissed off with it. I know what you mean about them “eatin” the bullets and that shit pisses me off. I shouldnt unload a full clip into someone at point blank range then they shoot me one fuckin time and kill me. Its fuckin bullshit and needs fixed. I got lucky today and was finally able to be the “bullet eater” and I killed all five of the enemies at close range as I was bein shot and not injured. I think it funny that everyone is complaining about which shotgun is more over power and the answer is that they both rape way to hard. If you dont think that being able to take down a whole team with one active reloaded gnasher clip isn’t broken then you have a problem, and using the one shot dip in-and-out method of the sawed off is any better just be quiet because they are both to mean. I think that both the shotguns and all there gay should be put on the map on the “This is my gun” game type.

you can get double kills with the gnasher my good sir. While, yes, they are less frequent and based more upon better shot precision and some luck, it is possible and somewhat frequent.

I suppose your a gnasher d-bag. Sawed off has virtually no range, while gnasher has, A huge clip, Huge range, and moderatley high damage. Sawed off is a close range weapon with high damage. AKA a shotgun.

everyone bitching about the shotguns are retarded, both of them are overpowered, for one the sawed off can kill people behind you and around corners.  The gnasher shoots as fast as the gow1 shotty, with the range and power of the gow 2 gnasher either way every gun has an overpowered feel 2 it. Consider the fact that the lancer can down a whole team in one clip, the hammerburst can down anybody if u got a good trigger finger, and well the retro can down people in 6 shots, so people think for a moment here we either play gears 3 and deal with everything over powered, if u cant get ur asses back to gow1 or gow 2 they still have a huge community of online play. simple choices, simple resolve, and now i feel like a retard posting about the shottys on a event calendar thread….

I don’t like the fact that old events are showing. I thought the title of this was “Upcoming events calendar” for  areason…

I think you are right in saying that this game is not meant to be played to win. Its meant to be played for enjoyment. Now I am a retro user and i  occasionally find myself shooting for my life when a shotgun comes up  and kills me in no more than 3 shots. That’s what a shotgun is for. I use both guns swapping when i get bored. And to make a point, i only use retro lancer. Sure i keep a gnasher on my back, but its to stop people from sneaking up on me and sniping me in the head with the gnasher.And a majority of the time, i don’t use it. Personally, i get mad and use a few choice words. But i get over it. You die in the game. It happens. Nothing is gonna change it. So what do you do? Get back in and try again. Learn how to counter those constant deaths. Don’t charge out so often. Use your rifle for a change. The game has more weapons than just shotguns and snipers. The gnasher had ridiculous range. The sawed off has ridiculous damage. So does the boomshot and sniper. Where are those complaints? I thank Epic Games for making this game even better. That should be the point of the game. And before you start ranting about my skills, I suck. My kd ratio is 2 and my matches lost are just plain stupid. Do I quit? No. I get back in and tag you with a nade. Plain and simple.

So how many ribbons do we get for this event that go towards the War Supporter Medal? Would it be 12 + 8 (8 different events)? And if you did some of those 8 events previously, would you just get the 12 + x (the ones that you have not previously gotten)? Thx

u dont have to be a beta teste the seriously 3.0 acheievment is recieving onyx for all medals and hitting lvl 100 the onyx medals start after the 4th medal. so u dont need to achieve the earn 30 onyx, which u will actually do, dont need to be a beta tester and you dont need to reach level 100 in gow 2

I love gow. I have medals and ribbons however, I don’t get to play it as much as I’d like working the schedule I work and a house to take care of. I’m not all that great at multiplayer either but still enjoy it. Bulletstorm was alright I just wanted gow3 beta lol. I play gow all the time when I have the chance however, I’m not a teenager living with parents or anything like that.  I’m 26 married, and just purchased a house. I’m also an author. I have 23 Onyx medals and counting.  The problem is that the ones I have left require hundreds of hours of play time.  They should make the Onyx medals a bit more realistic.  3000 of each game mode is just crazy and would take years to complete on a normal persons schedule.

Personally i find it a bit wierd why people complain about this, shotguns are for close range, therefore use a shotty in CQC, if someone runs at you with a shotty mow em’ down with your rifle problem solved. If worst comes to worst and you have to fight CQC then pull out your shotty or use your chainsaw. (If you got one.)

My friend got a code from one of his friends and let me use it so I could try the beta testers, but i unlocked a few things in it but it locked up a week or two after I got the actual game. So I have no clue lol. I can’t really bitch atleast I have a few things from it.

People do complain about it, and I heard ( not knowing if its true ) but epic lowered the range of it I think, not for sure about that. I heard from a friend but a lot of people take it for granted the things we get from Epic. Now, I would like to use the retro saw off that would be awesome.

All you had to do to get a beta key was pre order the game. So while it is kinda lame that that is the only way to get that achievement, if you are a hardcore gears player (the only players that are really even going to get the 3.0) then the beta medal isn’t really an issue

Its not that hard to get all the medals if you are a true Gear Fan then. I work 48 hours every week and i have roughly 87% of the medals.

I started warring more after reading these threads, seeing how people complain about not having the medal. I have achieved other Onyx medals, but this is my, “If you see this and cry, it’s your own damn fault!” Haha! I by no means think I’m that good. The reason that you have seen people with this achievement is because the game had glitched at some point, it happened to me. Not sure why it happen, I was playing some private matches came back out to the menus and the acheivement randomly popped.  So if you do see people with the achievement, dont worry you’ll get eventually.

I love Gears 3 everything has improved sense gears 2 but has anybody noticed that even though water is on every map in the game pretty much the water reaction when you walk through it has definitely changed and is terrible plus when you shoot it barely a reaction.Maybe it is because of all the graphic improvements but I really think they should put the ripple affect back in! I’ve been playing this game for a long time and I’m no where near the best at it but i can tell the differance between good players and bad. The good players are consistantly getting a lot of kills and the not so good players have a good round now and then. This game takes a lot of skill to be consistanly on top. Maybe blind firing a lancer is where u r going wrong?

The developers get paid to do something I assume is what they want to do for a career. So i think it’s our right to complain considering how much we pay for the game. You’ll live longer! If some people want to get all the Onyx medals, who cares! If some want to just play for the fun of it and say screw the Onyx medals, so be it. I myself will try to get as many as I can, but realize that it will take a long time to do so. I love Gears and it’s the only game I play. I Disagree with all this “Sawed off is for noobs” stuff.

I use the sawed off, and 1st off i have to get in close enough to kill someone with it, then theres a chance that they move 2 inches back then all it does is put a faded red gear on their screen and im stuck reloading for the next 8 seconds, 6 if active reloaded perfect 10 if jammed.

When someones reloading for 6-10 seconds thats your own damn fault if you dont drop them in that time, and as for the initial shot….stay the fk away from me if you see me holding a sawed off, don’t run in and die then mope/emo in your mic that you got killed by one.

i’ve lost all my campaign and progress towards challenges! TWICE!!!
i kept all the medals and ribbons i had – as well as all the achievements and GS, but every time i do somthing that would have gotten an achievement, it comes up in stats and awards with a little exclaimation mark. i’m actually really pissed with the losses because i had completed every chapter on insane apart from the one with the tempest, and then it all vanished! leaving me with nothing to show for all my efforts!

Hey what is with the events lately, and the dlcs, don’t get me wrong I love gears of war but I guess I have gotten to the point of getting tired of paying for extra content to a lot of these games. I want an event to be just that, something new and exciting not the same old thing over and over.(eg boomsnipes) Why not try something new and different. In my opinion they should have a dlc pack with all exclusive MP Skins like (Pre-orders/Beta unlocks); As as much people would bitch and complain they should do it when gears 3 been out for a year or something. Also soon epic should think about releasing more dlc character packs for gears 3 cause to have more variety/ fun and long lasting, plus add any gears characters that were involved in the series/comics, etc. EPIC NEEDS TO ADD A NEW EVENT EVERY WEEKEND TO MAKE THE GAME WORTH WILD TO PLAY!!!
