GCON Community Night: Gaming With The Developers!

Gears Community Online Network (GCON), with the help of Calibur11, is raffling off a Gears of War 3 Vault signed by the Epic Developers. Caption the God King for a Chance to Win!

Fans of Infinity Blade understand. While there are many memorable characters in the game, one stands spiked helm and pauldrons above the rest: the God King. Is it his clever turns of phrase? His seemingly unending bravado and self-confidence? His infectious villain laugh? Whatever it is that makes him resonate with you, there’s no doubt that his impression is long lasting on the game franchise.

But sometimes it’s hard to understand exactly what the God King is saying. Sure, we get the captions in game. But how do we know for sure? Maybe he’s far more amusing than we give him credit for.

Well, we thought it’d be fun to give you a chance to put your words into the God King’s mouth. So feel free to be inspired by the this pic and caption it the way you see fit in the comments. We’ll be taking entries through Friday, November 11th at 5pm EST

The Results are in: deviantART Contest Winners Announced

Gears of War 3 deviantART Gears United / Artists UnitedAfter a hard fought battle, the winners of the deviantART Gears United / Artists United contest winners have been announced. The first place prize winner was “Bring It” by deviantART user Aeonsend. Aeonsend wins $10,000.00 USD in cash, an xBox 360 Gears of War 3 Limited Console Bundle and loads of awesome deviantART swag and prizes. Judges from Epic Games called the piece “Stunning.”

Gears of War 3 deviantART Gears United / Artists UnitedSecond prize goes to “Passage to Hell” by wwudesign who wins $1,000.00 in cash,  Gears of War 3, and lots of great Xbox and deviantART prizes. The third prize winner “Final Stand,” was created by JerMohler & Kapow2003 who will share $750.00 and other prizes.

For the first time, deviantART is allowing co-op entries, allowing you to team up with another artist to create their Gears of War-inspired artwork using the asset pack and any flat form of visual art, such as illustration, painting, photography, etc. All entries must be submitted in landscape format as a JPG or PNG file in a minimum file size of 2560×1440 pixels at 72 dpi.
