Classic Horde, Raven Down 24/7 & Stay Frosty up for Vote!

Gears of War 3 Mercy MapWe asked you on the Epic Games forums and on Twitter to tell us your favorite #GearsWeekend events and we received quite a few responses! We’re taking the three top requested events, and putting them up for vote on Facebook. Now is your chance to choose what you want to play this coming #GearsWeekend .

Stay Frosty – No shotguns and players start with the Hammerburst, Snub and one Frag Grenade. There are no pick ups other than limited damage frag grenades. No DBNO.

Raven Down 24/7 – A special Execution playlist that will take ten rounds to win. The weapon load-out will be Gnashers and the special one shot Snub that pops heads.

Classic Horde – No Savage, no Lambent, no bases, no fortifications, no cost for weapons, no buy back in and Gears 2 wave structure with Bloodmount “bosses.”

Gears Weekend: Classic Horde, Bunny Hunt!

This Easter weekend you’ll be hunting bunnies in Gears of War 3 and be getting 2x XP! Not only that, but we’ll have “Classic Horde” with no Savage, no Lambent, no bases, no fortifications, no cost for weapons, no buy back in and Gears 2 wave structure with Bloodmount “bosses.”

In Beast Mode “Power Struggle,” there will be more powerful Locust, COG and fortifications, advanced weaponry and no stranded. The “Get Gnashty” playlist also makes a return!

Gears Weekend: Cupid’s Wingman

Gears Weekend Cupid's WingmanGrab your favorite Valentine and get ready for the event for this #GearsWeekend, “Cupid’s Wingman.” In this special edition of Wingman, you will start with the Torque Bow, Gnasher and Snub. The Torque Bow only has one arrow and all weapon pickups are replaced with the Torque. The special one shot Snub also makes a return, so watch your head! The event runs through 9:00 AM EASTERN February 15th.

Speaking of your head, you will also have a special Valentine’s Day head and custom “Cupid” weapon skins. Thanks to Epic Games Senior Multiplayer Programmer Pete “petenub” Knepley for the creating the awesome weapon skins, they are already a huge hit!

Gears Weekend: The Grayson Cup

T_LG_Stadium_ProgramThis #GearsWeekend we’ll be celebrating the big game and the Grayson Cup with Torque Bow Tag. No smokes, no shotguns, only Torque Bow pickups and single shot Snub. Just like last week, the Snub is loaded with just one shot capable of popping heads! Don’t forget to use the Thrashball Drone if you’re on the Locust team. There are only a few days left to play with this exclusive skin.
