The five Queensland University of Technology students behind the IndieDB UDK Game of the Year, Sp.A.I., will be on-hand today at East Coast Game Conference. In their presentation at Unreal University, //No Comment will be giving tips on how to get started with UDK and will explain how they ramped up production using specific UDK tools and techniques. They will also discuss how they overcame challenges commonly faced by new teams and ultimately shipped a fun game with commercial potential.
One of the prizes the team won in the IndieDB contest was a visit to Epic Games Headquarters and a chance to present their game to the Epic Staff during lunch in the Arena. Epic Games‘ Sr. PR Manager, Dana Cowley, introduced the group and gave them a tour of the studio.
The //No Comment presentation, “Over-Acheivers from Down Under: The Team Behind Sp.A.I.” starts today at 4:00 PM at the East Coast Game Conference. For more information about Unreal University, please visit http://epic.gm/unrealuni. You can download the game at ModDB.
