Infinity Blade Nominated for the IMGA Excellence in Design Award

Marseille, FRANCE, January 31, 2011 — Infinity Blade has been shortlisted for the Excellence in Design award by the International Mobile Games Association (IMGA). The awards recognize international contributions to mobile gaming in seven categories. From the release:

“We have had an unprecedented response for the year’s awards,” said Maarten Noyons, CEO and Founder of the IMGA. “We see a trend of very high quality, big productions coming to the mobile platform and on the other hand a lot of fresh innovative casual games. I think the jury has made a very interesting choice. The 7th IMGA shows a wealth of new ideas and ground-breaking quality coming from studios all over the world.”

During the last six years, the IMGA has reviewed more than 1,400 mobile games from more than 52 countries including the USA, Ukraine, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, China, the Czech Republic, Brazil and Belgium. Participants include PhD students, researchers, artists, individual developers and the top ten mobile games publishers and developers in the world.

Winners will be announced in February at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. A full list of nominees can be found at at the IMGA Awards site.

Congratulations to ChAIR and the Infinity Blade team at Epic!
