“Gears of War 3” to release in Germany on September 20th, 2011
Microsoft and Epic Games today announce that “Gears of War 3” will be launching in Germany when the game is released worldwide on September 20, 2011. With more than one million pre-orders already locked, “Gears of War 3” has already taken the crown as the fastest pre-ordered Xbox 360-exclusive title to reach this milestone, confirming its place as one of the most anticipated blockbuster games of the year!
Following a successful USK 18+ approved rating, “Gears of War 3” will be released exclusively for Xbox 360 and for the first time German fans will be able to load up their Lancers and join Marcus Fenix and his fellow COG soldiers as they embark on an explosive fight against the parasitic Lambent and savage Locust threats to save the human race from the jaws of extinction.
The USK regarded Gears of War 3 as a case of doubt. The BPjM (the federal inspection authority for media) did not regard the game relevant for indexing. Therefore the USK granted an 18+ rating.
“We hope the fans are excited as we are that ‘Gears of War 3’ will now be on sale in Germany when the game releases worldwide on September 20,” said Epic Games Design Director Cliff Bleszinski. “We’ve worked hard to deliver the greatest Gears game yet and are looking forward to seeing our German ‘Brothers’ getting involved in the biggest and best Gears experience delivered in the history of the franchise.”
