Korea’s GameTech Conference Gets Epic Keynote

CARY, NC and SALT LAKE CITY, UT, March 21, 2011 — Geremy Mustard, Technical Director of Epic Games’ ChAIR Entertainment, developer of the critically acclaimed iOS game Infinity Blade, will deliver the keynote presentation at GameTech 2011. GameTech is Korea’s only game engine-focused seminar, attended by the region’s best and brightest commercial game and game technology developers. Previous keynote speakers include Epic’s founder and technical director, Tim Sweeney.

Mustard will bring a decidedly mobile flavor to his keynote, entitled “Infinity Blade and Beyond,” which will delve into the development process of a game that has won dozens of game of the year and editor’s choice awards. Mustard will cover practical lessons his team learned and how they overcame challenges to bring a triple-A video game console entertainment experience to mobile devices. “We uncovered some surprising tricks that helped us make a very good-looking game,” Mustard said. “The learning process really opened us up creatively.”

GameTech is held annually in Seoul. More than 800 people attended last year’s conference, which was host to talks given by industry leaders from studios around the world. The 2011 convention is expected to draw 1,000 people, and the event’s theme is “Development Direction of the Latest Multi-Platform Game Technology.”
